ARTARMON – PART-TIME ADMIN ASSISTANT

Explore & Develop Artarmon is a long day care service located in Artarmon in the Lower North Shore. Our centre is privately owned and operated by two Early Childhood Teachers. We are open fifty weeks a year between 7:30am – 6:00pm and have 76 children per day across four classrooms.

We are seeking an experienced part-time Admin Assistant who has a high level of customer service skills.

You will be required to communicate with families and educators daily, as well as undertaking the day-to-day administration duties for the management team. Your attention to detail, communication, interpersonal skills, and time management are important for the success of this role.

Your role will include:

  • Building positive partnerships with our families, children and educators
  • Interpersonal skills with a customer orientated focus
  • Managing the enrolment data base and telephone/email enrolment inquires
  • Ordering supplies
  • Working in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OWNA experience (desirable) and XERO accounting/finance system knowledge
  • Bookings (professional development, incursions, community events, staff celebrations)
  • Maintaining children and staff records

The role hours and working days can be flexible, but we are looking for someone 3-4 days p/week, to work 7-8 hrs p/day.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with flexibly and with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated capacity to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Experience with Xero bookkeeping
  • Transitioning record keeping to a cloud base data storage
  • Good computer skills, including email, Office365, social media (Instagram and Facebook).
  • Experience in Administration in an Early Education and Care Service (preferred, but not essential).
  • Demonstrated administration, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an accurate and timely manner
  • Demonstrated numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
