Explore & Develop Baulkham Hills is a purpose-built, architect designed service that caters for children from six weeks to six years of age. We are conveniently located in the heart of the Hills community, at 98 Old Northern Road, Baulkham Hills with plenty of on-site parking.
We provide a welcoming ‘home away from home’ environment, where children and families feel they belong and are part of our community.
Our relationships with children, families, caregivers, and the wider community guide our service, our philosophy and our decision making.
Our outdoor area features nature play-spaces where children can run, play, imagine, explore and learn.
Indoors, we provide a calm, relaxed and home-like learning environment that encourages inventive and imaginative play, literacy, numeracy and science learning opportunities and social and emotional development.
Our Educators are intentional with our teaching practices and encourage and invite children and families to contribute to our curriculum program. The curriculum is guided by Australia’s National Curriculum – The Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being & Becoming and is enriched with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) concepts.
We welcome you to come and find out more about Explore & Develop Baulkham Hills for yourself.
Explore & Develop Baulkham Hills is owned and operated by a local Baulkham Hills family. We are on-site daily to manage the service and support the children, families, and Educators.
Having grown up and lived in the local area, we are active members of the community. With young children of our own, we are attuned to the needs of local families and are connected to the wider community.
Our aim is to build a strong friendship with families, as families are the first and most influential people in children’s lives. We aim to work in partnership with families and encourage them to engage with our service through our open-door policy. For as we all know, it takes a village to raise a child and positive connections between families and Educators is a fundamental part of this.
Each child in our care is listened to and their voices and thoughts acknowledged and respected by our highly qualified and caring Educators. Each child is encouraged to advocate for themselves and engage in critical thinking, experimentation, problem solving skills and mindfulness.
A dedicated on-site chef at Explore & Develop Baulkham Hills prepares daily all nutritious food, with the menu featuring wholegrains, dairy, fruit and vegetables. The menu is guided by Munch & Move, a NSW Health initiative that supports the healthy development of children from birth to five years of age.
Educators develop learning opportunities that promote and encourage children to develop connections with their natural world, through learning to look after their planet. Aspects of the ‘Earth Love’ program include children-led programs on recycling, saving water and planting vegetables and other plants.
Our focus is to make your child’s transition to school as smooth as possible and give your child the important skills to help them start school as confident, capable and independent learners.
We recognise the importance of early literacy and numeracy, social and emotional development, as well as physical development and co-ordination. We offer an educational program to support the development of these in your child and their transition to school.
