Explore & Develop Penrith South fosters an emergent curriculum. Generally speaking, this means that when educators program and plan for children they are using children’s interests to do this. Explore & Develop Penrith South have a play-based learning style which allows children to explore, wonder and be curious in their environment. This supports children to problem solve, think rationally, use skills of trial and error, and much more.

The benefits of play can be seen as a positive approach to learning that accommodates for educator involvement. This is important as we believe that educator involvement is crucial to support each individual child in their learning. Through play and exploring their interests, children learn to be independent in their learning however recognise when they need assistance. This, in turn, allows for educators to foster and scaffold children’s learning.

Another component of our curriculum which is very important to us, is creating time for our families. We feel by doing this we are helping them feel comfortable and welcome which also allows for a connection to the child’s home which fundamentally links the child’s beliefs, culture and facilitates communication.

We actively seek ways to engage our local community, as our curriculum includes teaching and connecting the children to the world in which they live. This helps to invoke a sense of curiosity and fuels children’s inquiring minds. We passionately support local community events – Relay for Life, 65 Roses Day and the NAIDOC Cup, just to name a few.

A homely, welcoming and well run daycare.
After great experiences with my niece and nephew attending this centre, I had full confidence enrolling my twin boys knowing they would have only the best care.
From the initial walk through I had such a wonderful feeling about the centre with the educators displaying their willingness to build a bond with the children with lots of cuddles and one on one time.
Both of my boys absolutely loved this daycare and I will genuinely miss seeing all of the educators and the lovely chef donna most days .
I really do owe this centre for helping me raise my boys to be so confident. The bond they had/have with their teachers is incredible and I would not give this centre anything less then a 5 star
Thank you

Absolutely love this Center. Immediately I felt such a sense of love and warmth when conducting our orientation 2years ago. Educators continue to go above and beyond to create safe, supportive and engaging spaces for the children to thrive and grow.

We reluctantly left the Center, to go somewhere more convenient after the birth of our 3rd child only to return because when I say nothing compared I truely mean it!

I feel so at peace knowing my children are so loved and supported by all the educators. We love our little Explore and Develop family.

Our experience with Explore & Develop Penrith South has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked into the center, we felt an immediate sense of comfort and welcome. The staff are incredibly attentive, caring, and inviting, making every effort to ensure both our child and we, as parents, feel heard and valued.

One of the standout aspects of this center is how well they communicate. Every update or concern is just a phone call away, and they are always ready to address any question, big or small. This level of attentiveness is truly reassuring.

What we particularly love about Explore & Develop Penrith South is their approach to settling children. Unlike some places that follow a "drop and go" method, this center encourages parents to stay until their child is settled. On difficult mornings, the staff genuinely care for, love, and comfort the children as if they were their own. This nurturing environment has made a significant positive impact on our child's experience.

We are immensely appreciative of the dedicated staff at Explore & Develop Penrith South. They have exceeded all our expectations, and we believe they truly deserve all the good things coming their way.

Thank you for everything you do!

I couldn't ask for a better team to entrust with care of my child. All the staff are wonderful. Educators are caring, friendly and supportive and I've watched my child blossom in confidence and learning in a fun, safe and secure environment in the years there. Honestly the absolute best!

We have both our children in this amazing centre. Our first started just before turning 1 (also at the start of Covid) and our 2nd started when 8 months old.

Even through Covid our centre was amazing and provided families with as much support as possible.

The staff go above and beyond to accommodate the needs of each child and families as much as possible. They care for our children and others so well, it's like an extended family.

They're also available for any questions or concerns too - they work with us, never against us.

*As much orientation as you/child need for smooth transition.

*Attachment based principles and circle of security to help meet the children's needs. My 2 children both started as babies, especially my youngest. They were never left to cry and it's not uncommon to see educators in the baby room with babies on their laps or in their arms! My son never liked being in s cot, so they worked out other alternative safe sleeping arrangements for him and it was amazing.

*They supported my continued breastfeeding journey and baby led weaning but they will support all choices (safe and age appropriate of course).

*There's so much cultural learning and experiences too from right here in Australia to learning about international cultures and celebrations.

*Auslan is included and used in every room, including the baby room. This is very inclusive and helps children not only who are hearing impaired but also struggle with verbal communication for various reasons.

*Kids have access to chickens and gardening. Lots of opportunities to play outside and when the weather is really hot, hoses, sprinklers and water play are a HUGE hit and relief for all!

*There's a sense of belonging and community at our centre and they have recently started a community pantry for the things grown I the garden, chicken eggs and other things families can place in there.

*My eldest has had the opportunity to leave the centre on little excursions to the park.

*The Centre has an optional child's sporting program attend - we would do it but my kids already participate in similar outside of Daycare.

Both of our children have flourished and the centre have been amazing with the extra support our eldest has required.

Our children have and continue to be nurtured and cared for, physically, emotionally and developmentally by the Staff at E&D Penrith South.

When my youngest attends school, I will be sad to part with the Centre, as stated earlier, they have been like an extended family.

We love our little humans more than anything which is why it's so important to find the right level of care for them. I couldn't be happier with the service my family receives from Explore & Develop (Penrith South) and am grateful to all of the educators for everything they do. My son was previously at a different school in the area and was not enjoying it but he is currently thriving and loving every day now. The communication is great, the food, the cleanliness and the level of care the team take in all they do is unmatched.
